| The best way to start is to start out at a fast walk to warm up (never stretch cold muscles) and then start jogging and jog as far as you can, then walk, jog again, walk, etc. You'll find that you can jog for a longer and longer time each week. Drink a lot of water, especially afterward, and when you're done, do some stretching. You just have to motivate yourself by setting little mini-goals. As for safety, well, make sure you have good running shoes, and don't run in neighborhoods or at times where there aren't a lot of people around. I've had a couple of scary experiences with guys shadowing me, and I ran right up to a place where there were a lot of people and called the police. Just keep your eyes open. |

A Wrangler has some odd handling characteristics, just like any vehicle, but the reports of tipping hazards are greatly exaggerated. A Wrangler does have a higher center of gravity than a car but if you are driving is so bad that you tip a Jeep over your going to wreck a car also. If you listen to your drivers ed teacher and actually commit to driving defensively a Jeep is not much more to deal with than any other vehicle and should be manageable. When I turned 16 my first car was a 1966 Chevy Caprice 327 Automatic. I drove that for a year and a half the speedometer goes to 120 MPH and it’s not for show. Aside from a deer that committed suicide on the bumper one night I had a flawless driving record. We still have this car and plan to restore it soon. My second vehicle was an underpowered 1990 Ford Ranger Pickup with manual transmission. I have operated lawn mowers with more power than that truck. But it was cheaper to take care of and I went further on a tank of gas. I took that truck to school and it did OK for several years. I sold it to a friend and he blew the engine up and sold it. My third vehicle was my 1998 Jeep TJ 4.0L with manual transmission; which I still have and drive. Each of these vehicles has it’s own quirks. Neither the Caprice nor the Ranger had cruise control – in the ranger that meant finding my speed falling off at every hill and my average speed dropping because of the underpowered engine. The Caprice on the other hand seemed to want to go fast. Really, really fast - so fast at times that at times at night with no cars on the road I was amazed to find the speedometer in the triple digits when I thought I was doing 55 MPH. Both vehicles taught me to be a better driver. I have had the Jeep for 10 years now and have had a lot of fun in it and plan to have a lot more. I highly recommend it for people who enjoy driving and like to go out and have fun on the road. You just have got to love a convertible. The Inline 6 Cylinder has enough power to carry it’s own weight respectably but the 2.4 L Inline 4 is more than a little under powered and unless you can’t swing the cash for a Inline 6 than pass on the 4 banger – you will wish you had the power when you try and get on the freeway. Also remember the following: If you’re a Guy: Girls love Jeeps. If you’re a Girl: Guys love Jeeps. Anyone who does not fall into these two groups is lame and should stick to D&D and LARPing. Anyone who does not at least comprehend the joy of a topless Jeep should not be trusted. |
