| there is GIMP and Paint.NET but photoshop is the standard adn its difficult to learn, id recommend buying it and start learning it (steep learning curve) once you master it nothing can stop you =) |

| Scanning anime pics and coloring them on the computer? Okay, I'm going to ask many questions in one and I would appreciate it if you could answer each one so I can understand because I have never scanned anything before and I have no idea what I'm doing :))) -I drew a a picture(Anime to be precise), and I was wondering...How would I be able to scan it onto my computer? What program do I use? I have a scanner/printer/copier(if that helps...). -Once I have scanned the picture onto the computer, I want to color it. Is there something I can download off the internet to do that(If so, where is the best place to download it? Or would I have to buy it from somewhere(If so, where is the best place to buy it)? KEEP IN MIND....THIS IS ANIME AND I WANT IT TO LOOK LIKE ANIME!!!!!! -I want to be able to put my drawings on Deviantart, Facebook etc. Once I scan and color, how do I place my drawings on those websites??? | Okay, i'll list it in points as I do the same thing, with anime too sometimes. I'll post some images in progression of what I have done, they are quite old, so they may look poorly drawn. 1) Draw the picture, make sure all the lines are drawn either in pen or are really dark, do NOT shade the picture, make sure it just has the outlines and stuff. 2) Scan the image using anything, but make sure you save the picture somewhere, so that you can use it in another program. If you can tweak the setting, I would recommend atleast 600dpi, as higher resolution images are easier to handle. img28.picoodle.com/data/img28/3/9… 3) Open photoshop (any version past 2004 is okay) or get it if you don't have it. Anyway open the image in photoshop, raise the contrast and lower the brightness a little until the image becomes clearer. Use the fill tool with the colour black at about 50-75p depending on what you used. You should now have a basic compter image with the outlines in dark black of what you drew. img26.picoodle.com/data/img26/3/9… 4) Just add some colour between the lines, just basic colour will do fine for now, when you are happy move onto step 5, use the fill tool at about 30p for this bit. img28.picoodle.com/data/img28/3/9… 5) Now add the shadows and other effects, like glows or wave lines, just mess about with it and see what you can do. Make backups just incase though. To add shadows, picture a torch being lit at the character and imagine where the shadows would go, like mine for instance, he is kind of blocking the light. It can look hard at first, but trust me, with practice it gets a whole lot easier, I used to use MS Paint at first, but photoshop is way better. I also have to say that, there are loads of other ways on a computer, but I find this the easiest, to make them look really real, you should use actual paint or airbrushes. I would recommend gouache paint for anime style drawings. I don't have a graphics tablet, but if you can afford a good one, then get it as it can really help with this. |

| You don't necessarily need a teacher. Many mangakas (manga artists) are self-taught. You're young--the worst thing you can do is to stop. So don't. Keep a sketchbook, and draw in it as much as you can. If you really put effort into each picture you draw, then I'm almost guaranteed that you would see yourself improve each time you fill up a sketchbook. Go to www.deviantart.com/ and look at other people's works--study their style. If you have the money--buy anime artbooks, because "How to draw" tutorials can help only so far. For now, if you devote just an hour of each day to drawing, you'll get better--definitely. Even if you have no idea what to draw, just find a picture of anime you like and try your best to copy the image. Of course tracing is not allowed! |
| Youtube Revenue sharing question. SOmeone who is familiar with anime & music copyright/the qualifications? So I got an invite for revenue sharing on youtube for 3 of my vids. You have to meet these 3 requirements: * You create original videos suitable for online streaming. * You own or have express permission to use and monetize all audio and video content that you upload—no exceptions. * You regularly upload videos that are viewed by thousands of YouTube users. I meet the 1st and last. I'm iffy about the 2nd. Technically doesn't one lack the permission to use ANY music that is by a well-known artist? (Even if they are not making copyright claims on youtube?). Anyone know if NIGHTCORE or Hard in Tango are copyrighted? Lastly anime pics...like fan pics you find all over the net...don't count right? | Why do people tease others about liking anime? (O and BTW I'm not getting teased...I just want to know why I am getting teased if I ever do. All my friends know i like it, and they are all ok with it. Some of the students in my school know of it, yet they think its stupid too! But, if you have a strong interest in something, them it'll be great to stand up to your belief. But not to the extent of an argument and suspension, LOL. Just ignore them, can carry on with their work. As long as you are not one of those people who surround their whole entire life based around anime (i.e. be the character 24/7, speak like them, dress like them etc) then you will be fine.
